Municipal elections for the Mayor and five Town Council Members are held on the first Saturday in May of even-numbered years. The Mayor and all Town Council Members are elected at-large and serve without compensation for a term of two years.  The next election will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018.

The Mayor is elected separately from the Town Council Members.  The Town Charter limits successive terms of office to three terms, the equivalent of six years.  The Mayor presides over all meetings of the Town Council.  The Mayor does not vote on matters coming before the Council, except in the event of a tie vote.

Every two years, all five Council Member seats are open for election.  The Town Charter limits Council Members to three successive terms, the equivalent of six years.  Each Council Member has an equal vote on all matters coming before the Council.
