Texas Utilities Code §182.052 gives you the right to ask that a government owned utility, such as the Town of Highland Park, not release the following information to outside parties:
Personal information which means your address, telephone number, or social security number
Any information relating to the volume or units of utility usage or the amounts billed to or collected from you for utility usage
Public Information Act
The Texas Public Information Act requires the Town of Highland Park to disclose residential customers’ confidential information (except for your social security number) to any person or business that requests it. The Town may protect your privacy if you ask us to do so.
The Town is still required to give confidential information to certain organizations and people such as consumer reporting agencies, state and governmental officials, contractors or subcontractors working for the Town of Highland Park, or another governmental agencies, and persons to whom a customer has contractually waived confidentiality.
If you do not want us to release your confidential information to outside individuals or businesses (e.g., telemarketing companies, direct mail advertisers, media organizations etc.), complete the Utility Account Confidentiality Request Form (PDF) and return it to the Utility Customer Service Office at:
