Garbage and Recycling Collection

The Town of Highland Park provides garbage and recycling collection using poly carts and recycling carts or bins. Brush is collected twice each week. Wednesday Front Collection is available for trash or rubbish, and bulk items that are over 35 pounds or cannot be placed in the poly cart. These items must be placed on the front parkway in manageable piles for hand collection. 

Garbage Collection

  • Place items for pick-up by 7:00 a.m.
  • Garbage is collected twice every week on scheduled days
  • Alley Customers – Please place the poly cart adjacent to the alley
  • Roll-out Customers – Please place the poly cart behind the front building line
  • Maximum weight limit: Maximum of 200 pounds per poly cart
  • One (1) poly cart equals the capacity of three (3) garbage cans

Recycling Collection

  • Alley Customers - Place the bin at the collection point adjacent to the alley
  • Roll-out Customers - Place the bin at the collection point on the parkway
