Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies

Highland Park DPS is recognized as a Gold Standard agency by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and has maintained that status since 1988.  There are only about 670 police agencies in the U.S. that have achieved CALEA accreditation.  The process requires continued compliance with over 480 standards of law enforcement professionalism.

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) conducts annual assessments of the Highland Park Department of Public Safety to ensure we meet the highest standards in public safety. 

CALEA accreditation focuses on standards that provide best practices related to life, health, and safety procedures for the agency.
